Message from the Minister

As part of the official proceedings, we shared the following message received from Hon. Ros Spence MP, Minister for Carers and Volunteers:

“I am delighted to share my best wishes for Volunteering Victoria’s Annual General Meeting, looking ahead to another year of supporting and recognising the invaluable contributions of volunteers in our state.

Volunteering plays such an important role in Victoria – not only does it build stronger and more resilient communities, but it delivers enormous benefits for volunteers themselves.

Through volunteering, individuals can strengthen community ties, boost confidence and develop new skills.

We recognise the immense value that thousands of volunteers deliver across a broad range of community needs, such as food relief, community sport, social inclusion, and responding to emergencies. We appreciate their unwavering dedication and commitment.

The Allan Labor Government is proud to continue our partnership with Volunteering Victoria.

I am excited to see what the year ahead brings, working towards our shared vision of a more inclusive, safe and connected state, where Victorians are encouraged and supported to participate in and contribute to their communities.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to each and every volunteer for their passion and drive, and to everyone at Volunteering Victoria for their ongoing support of volunteers in our state.”
