About the State Conference
The State Conference is the premier event on Volunteering Victoria’s calendar, regularly attracting over 250 delegates representing the richness and diversity of volunteering across Victoria.
Held every two years, it brings together volunteer managers, coordinators and organisational leaders to build capability, share ideas and strengthen volunteering practice.
Designed for those who engage and support volunteers, the Conference focuses on practical learning, professional development and meaningful connection.
Leading through change
Volunteering in Victoria is shifting. Participation is increasingly happening beyond traditional, long-term roles, with many people choosing flexible, cause-driven opportunities that align with their values and fit around work and family commitments.
At the same time, organisations are managing increasing compliance obligations, ongoing workforce pressures and rising community need. Expectations around inclusion, accessibility and volunteer experience are – quite rightly – higher than ever.
This changing environment requires thoughtful leadership and adaptive practice.
The State Conference creates space to reflect and respond with practical solutions. It’s an opportunity to share lessons with peers, explore new approaches, and strengthen the capability needed to lead sustainable, contemporary volunteer programs.
By bringing the sector together, the Conference supports informed leadership and stronger volunteering experiences for communities across Victoria.
