International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMDay) recognises and celebrates the profession of volunteer leadership.

Observed annually on November 5th, IVMDay was founded and observed for the first time in 1999. It was developed in order to bring recognition to individual Managers of Volunteers and their roles in the mobilisation and support of the world’s volunteers.
Volunteering doesn’t just happen. Every day across Victoria, thousands of paid and unpaid volunteer managers support our state’s 3.3 million+ volunteers to deliver much needed services.
Volunteer managers provide the leadership and direction that allows volunteers to make meaningful contributions to their communities. Without professional leadership, people’s time, talents and efforts would be wasted.
Volunteering Victoria is proud to support International Volunteer Managers Day, recognising the vital role of volunteer leaders for effective volunteering.
As an official IVMDay supporter, we encourage you to join us in celebrating all the Managers, Coordinators and Leaders of volunteers across the state.
2025 Theme
This year’s theme is “Be BOLD. Make Change.”, recognising that for change to occur, we often need to step outside our own comfort zone.
This is a call to action to speak up for what matters and champion the changes that help volunteering thrive.
What will be your BOLD change?
