Presented by Anya Richards – Volunteer Partnerships Coordinator, Omnia Community Health
People with disability still face barriers to accessing meaningful volunteer opportunities. To help address this, the Volunteer Resource Centre at Omnia Community Health has co‑designed two practical resources with volunteer‑involving organisations (VIOs), people with disability, and their supporters.
One of these resources – “How to Get Co‑Planning Conversations Right as an Organisation with Volunteers” – is designed to help VIOs strengthen their capacity to create inclusive and purposeful volunteer roles.
In this webinar, you will learn how to apply the key insights from this resource to your organisation’s unique context, helping you offer more meaningful and sustainable volunteer experiences for all.
Topics covered
- Overview of the co‑design approach and resources
- A clear 4‑step inclusive recruitment process, from first enquiry to onboarding
- Running effective co-planning conversations
- Key principles for person‑centred, strengths‑based volunteer engagement
- Practical guidance for trial shifts, communication, and organisational follow‑through
- Simple actions to improve your volunteering practice
