Training delivered by Social Impact Hub
Impact measurement isn’t just for big organisations with dedicated evaluation teams – it’s a practical, powerful way for volunteer managers to show what’s working, what’s changing, and why their programs matter.
In this online, group-based session, we will focus in on developing outcomes and indicators, and present specific, practical and useful examples of how other impact organisations defined their outcomes and indicators.
Identifying the right outcomes and corresponding indicators really is the core of Impact Measurement and this workshop is a great follow-on to the previous introductory session on impact measurement.
- Opportunity for tailored feedback
Following the workshop, a limited number of participants will be invited to share their outcomes and indicators with the facilitator, who will provide individual, written feedback. These will be selected by Volunteering Victoria after the session.
Note: This workshop is designed as a follow-on from the Impact Measurement for Volunteer Management training (held in March). All those registered will receive a link to the event recording prior to the session.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Define what outputs, outcomes and indicators are, and explain the difference between them.
- Understand how an impact measurement framework connects outcomes and indicators, and how that equips you to develop data collection methods.
- Draft initial outcomes and indicators relevant to your work.
- Explore different examples of organisation’s outputs, outcomes and indicators.
Register
All participants will be asked the following questions as part of the registration. This will help us tailor the session to your organisation’s specific needs and priorities.
- Do you already have indicators in place for your organisation?
- What are your biggest impact measurement challenges?
- What are the parts of your impact you find the hardest to measure?
