To create change, we first need to understand the full picture.
As Victoria’s state peak body for volunteering, we’re committed to sharing the latest trends and insights.
Launced in May, the 2025 State of Volunteering Report provides a detailed picture of volunteering across the state: who volunteers, how they contribute, and what challenges and opportunities lie ahead for the sector.
Volunteering is evolving rapidly, and this research is a starting point for action. Over the coming months, we’re inviting volunteer leaders, managers, and organisations to dig deeper into the findings with us and help shape the sector’s next steps.

Deep Dives: Online Sessions
Volunteering Victoria will host a series of online sessions, each focused on a different theme drawn from the report. These sessions are open to anyone working with volunteers or interested in the future of volunteering in Victoria.
Each session will include an overview of what the data tells us, real-life examples, and space for discussion. The goal is to translate the research into practical ideas you can take back to your organisation.
