The strategic direction of the new VMA funding including national initiatives is being managed by the VMA Council (established 2021) which has representatives from the state and territory Volunteering Peak Bodies, a representative of Volunteering Australia and a representative from the Department of Social Services.
VMAC will be responsible for the delivery of national projects to support the VMA. The first identified project is refreshing the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement (2015).
