Volunteering in the post-COVID World
Keynote: Susan Pascoe AM

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers. From 17–23 May 2021, thousands of events were held across the country to say thank you to the 6 million Australians who volunteer their time.

On 20 May, Volunteering Victoria was delighted to host the forum: Volunteering in the post-COVID World. In a fish-bowl type format, participants were invited to share their views on the impacts and challenges in volunteering and its decline during COVID-19. The panel, including Volunteering Victoria Board members with Chief Executive and keynote, Susan Pascoe AM explored ways the volunteering sector can move forward and the challenges it might face in the new world.

Adjunct Professor Susan Pascoe AM provided a keynote address which considered the key social, geopolitical, economic and environmental issues facing organizations in the Not-for-Profit (NFP) sector at the moment. This environmental scan provided an alert to the key strategic threats and opportunities for volunteering bodies as they navigate the uncertainties of a post-pandemic world locally and globally.
